serving at mt. zion

Serving within the local church is not just a duty—it's a joyful expression of our unity in Christ and a vital part of spiritual growth for every believer. God has uniquely gifted each member of His body to build up the Church in love, and when we serve one another, we reflect Christ’s own servant-hearted nature.

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.” - 1 Peter 4:10

When we use our gifts to serve others, we glorify God, strengthen the Church, and participate in His redemptive mission in the world. There is no small role in the body of Christ—every act of service matters and helps the Church flourish.

Are you using your gifts to serve the body? There’s a place for you to do so here at Mt. Zion.   Explore Serve Teams below and let us know where you want to serve.
Welcome Team
Interested in joining our Welcome Team?  We want every guest to feel welcomed and cared for when they join us for worship services and events.  The welcome team is the front line to greet guests and members each week and provide directions or help as they find their way too worship, Sunday School, or other ministry areas.  We have multiple sub-teams to accomplish this task.

Greet Team - Helping guests find their way
Welcome Desk Team - Providing Resources and Information
Next Steps Team - Assisting guests to take their next step at Mt. Zion.

Kids Team
We have a vibrant children's ministry at Mt. Zion and we are always looking for new team members for MZ Kids.  If you have a passion to help children learn more about about Jesus and a desire to get involved, we would like to discuss opportunities with you.  Teaching positions are reserved for church members, but there are multiple ways in which you can get plugged in to MZ Kids.

All MZ Kids Volunteers will be required to submit to a background check.
Event Team
We are always looking for individuals to help with our events at Mt. Zion. Service opportunities include setup, cleanup/breakdown, food preparation and food service.  Serving on the event team is a great way to get to know our church family as you serve side-by-side with others.

Worship Team
Interested in serving in our worship and music ministries?  We are always looking for new vocalists, instrumentalists, and A/V team members. Choir practice is on Sunday evenings at 4:30 pm.  Musicians have practices on Sunday evenings (praise band) and Wednesday evenings (orchestra).
Medical Emergency Response Team
Our Medical Emergency Response Team serves during Sunday mornings and during events to respond to medical needs that may arise.  CPR training is required and team members will carry a radio when scheduled to serve.  All team members serve under the supervision of a trained medical professional.
Security Team
Security team members serve each Sunday to assist with monitoring our church campus to provide a safe and secure environment for all our members and guests.  Team members serve on a rotation and carry a radio to assist with communication.  Church membership and a background check are required to serve on the Security Team.
Student Ministry Team
Our Student Ministry, 6-12 grade, is very active and we are always looking for volunteers who love teenagers and want to see them grow in their commitment to Christ and His Word.

Our Students meet each Sunday for Sunday School and meet Wednesday night for Equip (Worship, Teaching, Small Groups, and Fellowship).  There are also a number of events throughout the year.

Background checks are required to serve in the youth ministry.  Teachers are required to be church members.

Groups (Adults)
We have Groups that meet each Sunday for Sunday School.  Groups gather as a way to Belong in the church family as they study God's Word, promote fellowship and engage in care for on another.
