What Is The Gospel?

As we pursue global outreach for the glory of God, our ambition and passion is to proclaim the gospel to those who have yet to embrace Christ as their Savior.  As the Scripture says, it is God’s power through the gospel alone that saves. Therefore, it is vital that we understand and can articulate the basics of the gospel.  During team training we will go over this subject in more detail, but please take a few moments to write out the gospel message.

Following are some scripture verses to guide your answer: Romans 1:1-6, 3:22-25, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-17, Isaiah 53:1-2, John 3:16, 1 John 1:8-10, 4:9-12, 5:11-13, Jude 1:24-25, 2 Peter 3:18, Hebrews 9:22, Colossians 2:13-15, Titus 2:13-14, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Galatians 1:3-5, Revelation 3:20, and more!

Your Personal Testimony

Preparing your personal testimony is extremely important in preparation for your mission experience.  Please write out your 5-minute testimony on the form below. You may follow this basic three-part outline if you wish:

- What was my life like before I met Jesus Christ? (What were my needs?  What got me interested in God?)

- How did I come to know Jesus Christ as my savior? (Who was I with?  When and/or how did this happen?  What did I say to God?)

- What is my life like with Christ now?  (How do I see Him at work in my life today? How is my life different?  How is my faith growing?)

Your testimony should not only tell about what Christ has done in your life, but it should also clearly present the gospel. It is a good idea to include a scripture reference in your testimony.   Here are some scripture references to consider: Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 10:10, 3:16; and many more!
