Ministries
Mt. Zion offers a number of ministries for you to connect with our church body. Please click on the ministries below for more information.
Sunday School at Mt. Zion consists of small group Bible studies designed to foster close relationships, lead people to faith in Jesus Christ, and build Great Commission Christians through open group Bible study that engages people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry and worship.
Our Sunday School classes meet at 9:45 am on Sundays. We have classes for all ages and invite you to join us. Preschool and children can check-in to Sunday School on the 2nd floor of our main worship building. Our youth meet in the chapel that is located in in front of the main worship building.
We also offer a “Foundations” Sunday School class throughout the year that is designed for anyone interested in church membership. This consists of a 4-6 week course designed to help participants understand what our church teaches regarding foundational doctrines and how we function as a church body.
“Let everything that has breath, Praise the Lord” Psalm 150:6
Worship is our response to God’s revelation. He has wonderfully and beautifully revealed Himself to us through his Son and through his word. As we gaze upon His majesty, beauty, and holiness, our response to Him should be complete surrender.
What a privilege and blessing it is that we have the opportunity to join to together with our brothers and sisters in Christ, with one voice, and proclaim that our God is worthy of our devotion, affection, and submission. We use the gift of music to honor Him and to hear from Him.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
First Pursuit Discipleship courses meet on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm. We seek to provide a menu of courses ranging from doctrinal studies to courses on practical Christian living. Our First Pursuit classes meet for 12 week semesters in the Fall and in the Spring.

- Hickory Flat Fine Arts Academy The purpose of Hickory Flat Fine Arts Academy is to provide a fun, inviting, loving atmosphere in which children can learn the language of the arts.
“In the beginning, God created….”Gen 1:1 God made each of us with a creative spark inside and sometimes that creativity is best expressed through the arts.
Perhaps your child has expressed an interest in learning to play an instrument, or maybe they just love to sing or draw. Perhaps they are interested in being involved in drama. No matter what their interest, there is a good chance that we have something that will connect with them.
Hickory Flat Fine Arts Academy is committed to providing your children with the right choices – choices which will meet the need of your children’s particular bent. So, if you are looking for a Fine Arts program that will provide your child with a chance to excel and uncover that creative spark within all of us, please join us on this journey.

The student ministry of Mt. Zion seeks to be “Rooted” in Christ Jesus. It is our desire to engage 6th-12th grade students in worship, Bible study and ministry.
FUEL is our Student worship gathering that meets each Sunday at 6:30 pm during the school year in the chapel. It’s a great place to get connected with other teens, worship with our praise band, and fellowship as we study God’s Word.
Our IGNITE Teams creative arts ministries are designed to help students get plugged into ministry. These teams include youth choir, praise band, interpretive sign language, STIX, and drama. Our teams meet each Sunday and Wednesday during the school year.
Check out the Student Ministry Blog for weekly updates and specific details regarding these ministries and our weekly schedule.
Our College students meet for our small group Bible study on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am.
